Best in Show: Red’s Corner
Red’s Corner, the food truck campus on the corner of Old U.S. 1 and Morganton Road in Southern Pines, has only grown in popularity since opening in March. It had been open for less than three months when Best of the Pines voting polls opened in June, but that didn’t stop it from winning six awards – including four first-place finishes as well as Best New Business and Best New Restaurant. The community has clearly spoken: Red’s Corner is the 2022 Best in Show award winner.
The longtime vision of owner Rachel Jurgens, Red’s Corner is filled with food trucks every day, serving up lunch and dinner and often even breakfast and dessert. The trucks and patio area surround the centerpiece open-air bar, with craft beer on tap, along with wine, mimosas, kombucha, seltzers and more. With a playground, lawn games and a variety of food and drink, the spot has a little something for everyone.
